Emily Hughes serves as Chief Operating Officer of JEM Underwriting Managers, a business unit of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. She brings more than a decade of experience across specialty commercial property underwriting, operations, and strategic leadership, and has played a key role in building and scaling JEM’s underwriting platform. Her background spans launching new insurance products, managing complex carrier relationships, and developing operational frameworks that support underwriting performance and growth.
Prior to joining JEM in 2020 following the acquisition of All Risks, Ltd., Emily served as Underwriting and Operations Manager for All Risks’ internal catastrophe property underwriting MGU, where she expanded product offerings, implemented tools to manage aggregate exposure, and developed portfolio optimization strategies. Emily began her insurance career at Kinsale Insurance Company, underwriting complex catastrophedriven shared and layered commercial property exposures.
Emily earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.
